MFI directors to leave business
Two departures from furniture retailer
MFI has announced that two senior directors are leaving the business in the wake of the profits warning issued by the furniture retailer last week.
Gordon MacDonald, group categories and manufacturing director, responsible for the supply chain, and Martin Clifford-King, chief financial officer, are leaving the company ‘by mutual agreement’.
MFI said the two will leave the MFI board immediately, and following a short handover period will also leave the company.
Chief executive John Hancock is taking responsibility for supply chain and category management, while Shaun O’Callaghan, strategy and development director, has been appointed as interim chief financial officer. Recruitment of a new CFO is underway.
Hancock said: “The board would like to thank Gordon and Martin for their contribution to MFI over the years. Despite recent difficulties, they have played important roles in the company’s development and have been valued members of the executive team. We wish both of them well in their future careers.”
