McArthurGlen appoints Susannah Bosanquet as director of communications & PR
Designer outlet group McArthurGlen has appointed Susannah Bosanquet to the newly created role of director of communications & PR.
The senior communications position has been created as McArthurGlen embarks upon a record period of expansion which will see it grow its retail footprint by 50% in the next three years.
The company, which operates 22 designer outlets in nine countries in Europe and Canada, has a current development pipeline that includes a further seven new outlets and the expansion of seven existing centres, all opening by 2019.
With more than 30 years’ experience in international consumer, fashion and corporate PR, Bosanquet will lead McArthurGlen’s consumer, corporate, brand partner marketing and business-to-business communications activities worldwide and will be a member of the company’s executive team.
Reporting to Shaeren McKenzie, McArthurGlen’s group marketing director, she will lead an in-house communications team based in McArthurGlen’s London headquarters and its key regional centres, as well as PR agencies in the UK, Germany, Italy, France, Canada, Russia, Korea and China.
McKenzie said: “Following three years of consistently strong growth, with McArthurGlen’s total centre turnover increasing by almost 30%, we are poised for our biggest programme of expansion since we opened the first designer outlet in Europe in 1995. Susannah will be a key member of the McArthurGlen management team as we deliver our mission to provide shoppers with the most exciting retail destinations and to drive value for our 900 luxury and premium brand partners around the world.”
Bosanquet has spent the last decade as managing director of her own lifestyle PR agency in Milan where she represented clients such as Giunti Publishing, Abercrombie & Fitch, Atari, Red Bull, Tommy Hilfiger, De Rigo, 7 4 All Mankind, John Frieda, Tony & Guy, Korres, Puma, Mihara Yasuhiro, Hugo Boss and Bentley.
Prior to that, she worked in-house as Calvin Klein’s European communications director based in Milan where she led the company’s brand and retail PR in Europe, including the direction of external PR agencies.
She began her PR career in London at the Savoy Hotel Group and then at Ogilvy & Mather before moving into fashion communications with a number of different agencies in Italy and the UK across clients such as Krug Champagne, Aquascutum, Bvlgari, Ferragamo, Fauchon, Chaumet, Graff, Charles Heidsieck, Jaeger and Tag Heuer Watches.
