Mattressman seeks sites for new stores
Mattressman, the bed and bedding retailer, has appointed Savills to help it find sites for new stores across the UK.
Founded in 2004 by Andrew Kerry, the brand was initially an online retailer but is now looking to expand its multi-channel operation by building a national store portfolio. Currently, it has 15 stores in the East of England and Greater London.
Mattressman is looking for shops between 2,000 and 5,000 square feet on retail parks or in busy standalone locations with an initial focus on the South East, Greater London, and the East and Central Midlands. In larger cities, the retailer is looking to operate a hub and spoke system of stores measuring around 7,500 square feet that will serve several smaller stores.
Matt McCue, retail director at Savills, said: “Mattressman is now the leading online retailer of mattresses with a turnover of circa £25 million predicted this year. We are looking forward to working with Mattressman to find strategic stores that will complement its strong online presence and help it become a true multi-channel retailer.”
