Upmarket offer to extend customer choice
November 15 2002
Marks and Spencer is to launch a range of luxury fashions next summer, according to a report in Retail Week.
Creative director for clothing Yasmin Yusuf said the new products would offer affordable products that are usually only available for upmarket retailers. She told Retail Week: “It will allow top-end customers to buy M&S clothing in fabrics like leather and cashmere, and customer that usually buy our core ranges to trade up for special occasions.”
The new clothes are intended to extend choice for customers rather than diverting from the core range. Details are still being discussed by the M&S management, and a name for the new range has yet to be decided on.
