Marks & Spencer recalls three mussel-based products

Marks & Spencer has recalled three of its mussel-based products after a small number of customers reported feeling ill after consuming them.

The retailer has recalled the products as a precautionary measure while investigations are taking place. The Food Standards Agency has issued a Product Recall Information Notice.

The affected products are Mussels in Garlic, Mussels in White Wine and Mussels and Clams.

Point-of-sale notices are being displayed in stores to tell customers about the recall.

Never Miss a Retail Update!

The retailer said: “At Marks & Spencer food quality standards and our customers’ enjoyment of our products are key priorities for us.

“We take this very seriously, and as a precautionary measure, we have recalled all packs of M&S mussels, which should not be eaten by customers.”

Marks & Spencer is now investigating the cause of the problem with its supplier. Customers who have purchased the products are being advised to return them to their nearest store for a full refund.
