Marks & Spencer partners with Billingsgate Seafood School
Marks & Spencer has joined forces with the Billingsgate Seafood School to launch a series of initiatives to help educate chefs, caterers and children about sustainable fish.
Launched to coincide with World Ocean’s Day on 8 June, the three year partnership will include the development of a specialist outreach project with UK catering colleges to help current and future chefs master their skills in preparing and cooking sustainable fish.
It will also encompass ‘Update your Knowledge Workshops’ on sustainability and responsible sourcing of seafood for catering companies and restaurants, and the roll out of ‘Fish 4 Kids’ educational displays and tastings at fish and food festivals around the UK.
Hannah Macintyre, fisheries and aquaculture manager at Marks & Spencer, said: “Billingsgate has an unparalleled reputation for developing skills in seafood preparation and cooking, and we’re delighted to be working in partnership with them. Education is integral to our Forever Fish Campaign, and Billingsgate will help us to educate caterers, chefs and customers and inspiring the future generation of seafood lovers.”
