Marks & Spencer kicks off recruitment drive for 70 software engineers
Marks & Spencer is aiming to recruit 70 software engineers over the next year to help boost its digital capabilities and drive its transformation.
The retailer has also launched a new bespoke careers page on its website called ‘M&OS’ to help attract the best candidates within the tech sector.
In a statement, M&S said the site will offer a “tech-friendlier ” user experience that has been designed to appeal to the types of candidates it wants to attract. The site also features a black JavaScript interface with clickable links and novel coding tasks for candidates to complete as it looks to simulate the operating system they are used to using in their field of work.
Roles on offer range from software engineers to engineering managers and principal engineers.
Mike Yorwerth, chief technology officer at M&S, said: “At M&S Tech, we’re working to establish ourselves as a destination for the very best tech practitioners around. With the recruitment of these 70 new roles, combined with our existing pool of tech talent, we’re putting responsibility for our digital transformation in the hands of some seriously inspiring software engineers – which makes me really excited for the future of M&S Tech.”
