Marks & Spencer confirms early start date for new clothing and home MD
Marks & Spencer has confirmed that its new managing director for clothing and home will join the business on the earlier than expected date of 6 July.
Richard Price was appointed to the role back in November when he was Tesco’s chief executive of F&F Clothing. Prior to Tesco, Price was managing director of BHS and also worked with Marks & Spencer from 2005 to 2012.
Steve Rowe, chief executive of Marks & Spencer, said: “Richard joins us at a crucial time. I am confident that his leadership of a much-strengthened team and track record of delivering growth through great value, stylish product will accelerate the transformation of our clothing and home business and build on the improvements in product, value and availability over the past year.”
The retailer’s clothing and home responsibilities have been temporarily handled by Rowe but these will be handed to Price on his arrival.
