Marks & Spencer coming to London Designer Outlet
Quintain Estates and Development has secured another three retail brands at London Designer Outlet (LDO) at Wembley.
Marks & Spencer, Superdry and Guess have all signed up to occupy units at London’s first bespoke designer outlet alongside Nike and Gap, who exchanged in November 2011. Marks & Spencer will occupy 21,108 sq ft at LDO, Superdry has signed for 3,676 sq ft and Guess has completed a deal for 3,636 sq ft.
Quintain has set its sights on attracting aspirational retail brands to LDO having already secured a strong line-up of food and beverage brands including Pizza Express, Prezzo, Frankie & Benny’s, Handmade Burger Co and Jimmy Spice’s. Fifty per cent (by Year One base rent) is exchanged or in solicitors hands more than twelve months ahead of its opening in Autumn 2013.
Phil Cottingham, Head of Retail at Quintain, commented: “LDO has been designed as a leisure and lifestyle destination that will serve the local catchment as well as ‘day-trippers’ and tourists visiting London, which will be reflected in the tenant mix. The initial phase of the leasing programme focused on establishing a strong food and beverage offer at LDO, followed by securing the cornerstone retail brands. We are delighted to have secured Marks & Spencer, one of the UK’s leading retailers, alongside Nike and Gap, as well as established fashion brands Superdry and Guess.”
LDO is the major retail and leisure element of Quintain’s 85-acre landmark regeneration project that is transforming the land surrounding Wembley Stadium and Arena. The 350,000 sq ft development will include 15 new restaurants, cafés and coffee shops alongside 85 retail units and Cineworld, a new nine-screen cinema seating up to 1,800 people. It will be London’s first designer outlet, the only one within the M25 and will be the nearest outlet centre for 5.8 million people.
