Marks & Spencer collaborates with style icon Alexa Chung

Marks & Spencer has embarked on a collaboration with Alexa Chung on a new womenswear archive collection.

Archive by Alexa includes 31 pieces that have been curated and handpicked by Chung and the Marks & Spencer design team using the extensive Marks & Spencer company archive in Leeds.

The items have all been given an updated look by introducing modern fabrications and a new colour palette.

The collection will debut in April 2016 and will be available in selected stores and online.

Chung said: “I have always had an affection for Marks & Spencer. I am thrilled to be part of this special and unique project. There was something very touching about looking back through the British fashion and social history for which M&S is synonymous.”

The supporting campaign will launch in April with Chung taking creative ownership of the mood and direction.

Steve Rowe, executive director of general merchandise at Marks & Spencer, added: “Marks & Spencer’s history is vast and quality design has always been paramount; therefore using our expertise and classic designs and Alexa’s unique eye and approach to style, our collaboration was born. A new womenswear collection, curated by Alexa, with heritage firmly at its heart.”
