Marks & Spencer appoints Ikea’s Marsha Smith as stores director, west
Marks & Spencer has appointed Marsha Smith to the position of stores director, west.
Due to join the retailer in September, she has worked for 20 years with Ikea, most recently as country deputy retail manager for the UK and Ireland.
Marks & Spencer is currently working to improve its store estate across the UK. So far this year, it has announced that it will be investing £30 million in its London stores and the same amount in shops in Scotland.
Commenting on her appointment, Smith said on LinkedIn: “Having had twenty amazing years with a brand I adore, I’m delighted to share I am fortunate to join another! In September I join Marks and Spencer in the role of stores director, west.
“My family and I love popping into M&S at the weekend, the quality, experience and gorgeous range always makes our weekend feel extra special.
“Extremely lucky to have the opportunity to build further on the amazing work so far and to support continued growth by ensuring we delight every single customer.”
