Marks & Spencer appoints director of sourcing
Marks & Spencer has promoted Monique Leeuwenburgh to the position of director of sourcing following the decision by sourcing specialists the Lindsey brothers to retire in March.
The pair came out of retirement in 2014 to help the retailer revamp its sourcing operations and have also been credited with improving margins.
Leeuwenburgh previously worked in the role of head of product operations, technology, sustainability, clothing and home at M&S. Her CV also includes a 27 year stint at Nike where her most recent position was global technical development senior director. In her new role, she will also have responsibility for technology and M&S’s Plan A sustainability programme.
In a further move, M&S has appointed former Debenhams director Dani Williams as director of commercial operations for its clothing and home division. She will succeed Stephen Fitzgerald who is leaving the business. Prior to Debenhams, she worked in senior positions at Dixons Carphone and Comet.
