Mamas & Papas to expand concession presence with Next

Nursery brand Mamas & Papas is expanding its Next concession presence with two new openings at Manchester Arndale and Next Home at the Meadowhall shopping centre.

The move is part of Mamas & Papas’ plans to develop its omnichannel retail offering following investment in its online business and new virtual services.

The company will be taking 2,000 square feet of space at Next Home at Meadowhall this week and a 3,300 square foot concession at Next in Manchester Arndale later this month.

Both concessions will offer a  range of products for new and expectant parents, including travel systems, nursery furniture and gift items. They will also provide in-store experiences such as personal shopping appointments.

Mamas & Papas has already launched concessions at Next stores in Bristol’s Cribbs Causeway and Lombardy Retail Park in Hayes. The Meadowhall concession will mark the brand’s return to Sheffield after a six year absence.

Nathan Williams, chief operating officer at Mamas & Papas, said: “We’re committed to developing our omnichannel offering to support all new and expectant parents through their journey ahead.

“That’s about carefully expanding our store portfolio with our strategic concession partner, Next, investing in new product development, supporting our thriving online business, as well developing our new virtual personal shopping services.

“While more of our customers choose to shop online, it’s clear they still really value a personalised, physical shopping experience as well, which is why the concession format works.”

Earlier this year, Mamas & Papas launched a virtual personal shopping service and a range of online ‘Parents to Be’ events.
