Mamas & Papas launches free virtual personal shopping service
Mamas & Papas has launched a virtual personal shopping service for new and expectant parents following a successful trial during the Covid-19 crisis.
The move has involved the retailer taking its personal shopping appointments online as it looks to help pregnant women, who are classed as a vulnerable group, to get advice and inspiration from home, even when shops have reopened.
Expert personal shoppers chat directly with customers over a video call straight from the shop floor of Mamas & Papas stores. The service also includes the provision of live demonstrations on everything from car seats to pushchairs.
The retailer said it now has hundreds of one-hour appointments on offer every day from 10.30am to 6pm.
Mamas & Papas has also introduced free virtual group sessions for parents-to-be where they can watch live talks about birth and babies via a video call, then join a Q&A session.
Alex Holt, Mamas & Papas marketing director, said: “The virtual Personal Shop is a first for the industry and a big step forward for the brand. Although we accelerated the launch in response to Covid-19, these digital services will continue beyond the restrictions as they suit the needs of busy parents. Ultimately, it gives parents a different way to engage and shop with us.”
