Majestic names Anita Balchandani as a non-exec director
Majestic Wine has appointed Anita Balchandani as a non-executive director.
Balchandani is currently a partner at consulting firm OC&C Strategy Consultants and is also a non-executive director of luxury beauty retailer, Space NK Apothecary. In the past, she has held senior management positions at Shop Direct and Asda Walmart.
Majestic, which recently acquired online wine retailer Naked Wines, said it will benefit from Balchandani’s experience of working with clients to make the transition towards multichannel operating models. She also has international experience after working in Asia, Europe and the United States.
Phil Wrigley, Majestic chairman, said: “I am delighted that Anita has agreed to join the Board at such an important time for our business. Having recently acquired Naked Wines, we are now transforming the business into an international, multichannel wine specialist, and Anita’s strategic and operational insight will be invaluable to this transformation.”
