MAC Cosmetics to join line-up at Queensgate

MAC Cosmetics is to open a 1,480 square foot standalone boutique in the Queensgate shopping centre in Peterborough.

Adjacent to John Lewis, the new store on North Square will stock the cosmetics retailer’s makeup, skincare, brush and fragrance ranges. The store will be the brand’s second dedicated boutique in the region.

Guy Thomas, head of retail asset management at Lendlease, said: “We are pleased to welcome MAC and their industry-leading beauty and cosmetics expertise to Queensgate. MAC’s well known status as a beauty brand, that inspires a loyal customer following, will tap into the high demand for beauty retail at Queensgate, and further drive sales in the beauty category.”

The news follows on from the recent like-for-like sales growth of 35% for the health and beauty category at Queensgate. Since Invesco bought Queensgate and Lendlease took over the asset management 18 months ago, 16 new brands have joined the line-up. There has also been an investment in refurbishing Westgate Arcade and improving Queensgate’s car parks.
