Lululemon hires executive vice president for digital
Lululemon Athletica has appointed Miguel Almeida as executive vice president for digital.
Due to join the sportswear company in mid-July, Almeida was most recently group vice president for digital commerce and mobile solutions at Walgreens where he was responsible for omni-channel initiatives, mobile solutions, and online-to-consumer commerce across a number of digital brands.
Prior to joining Walgreens, Almeida held senior roles at Apple and Dell where he drove global online expansion for both companies.
Laurent Potdevin, Lululemon Athletica chief executive, said: “With his track record of accelerating digital transformations, Miguel is well-positioned to champion Lululemon’s digital world and lead our strong digital team in creating a seamless experience for our guests across all touch points – whether it’s in store, on the web, or through a mobile device.”
In his new role, Almeida will report directly to Potdevin. His other previous positions include strategy consultant with The Boston Consulting Group where he worked across Europe and South America in the technology, telecom, ecommerce, marketing and retail sectors.
Almeida added: “Digital provides a unique platform to amplify the power of the Lululemon brand in innovative ways, deepen the connection with our guests across all channels and extend our reach globally.”
