Lovefilm signs deal with CBS to secure hit US TV shows

Lovefilm, the Amazon owned TV and film subscription service, has signed a multi-year licensing deal with CBS Studios to enable it to add popular US TV shows such as Dexter, Californication, Nurse Jackie and The Good Wife to its service for UK and German customers.

The shows available will also include the hit CBS series Blue Bloods and the original 1960s series of Star Trek.

Simon Morris, chief marketing officer at Lovefilm said: “We’re thrilled to announce this latest deal with CBS Studios Int., and bring another great selection of hit US TV shows to our members. The quality, quantity and diversity of what we can offer our members is absolutely fantastic which is why we’re quickly becoming the first choice subscription service for TV fans.”

The news follows Lovefilm’s announcement regarding the arrival of its new instant streaming app for Xbox 360 which forms part of the ongoing rollout of its ‘next generation app’.
