Upmarket department store Harvey Nichols reports that London is still feeling the affects of the post September 11 fall in tourism.
Sales at its London outlets, including the flagship Knightsbridge store and the Oxo Tower restaurant, were level for the first 15 weeks of the year.
However, sales at its Leeds store were up 11 per cent over the same period.
The company is increasing its presence outside the Capital, with new stores in Edinburgh opening in September and in Manchester next year.
