London Designer Outlet hails 2024 ‘bumper’ year

London Designer Outlet (LDO) saw its sales increase by 5% to over £103 million in 2024 as it benefited from a 2% rise in footfall to over 5.4 million visits.

The Wembley Park scheme has also reported its strongest ever Black Friday with sales increasing by 12% on 2023, including £749,000 of sales during the Saturday.

Meanwhile, over Christmas LDO’s retailers took over £3.4 million in just one week, up 7.8% on 2023. Nearly £1 million of sales were taken on Boxing Day to mark an increase of over 10%.

LDO secured 11 new lettings and relocations in 2024 which included the addition of French Connection and Rituals, as well as first outlet stores for Miniso and Abaci.

Matt Slade, retail director at Quintain, said: “Outlet retail continues to be remarkably resilient thanks to the unique in-person retail experience it offers compared to online shopping.

“The past year saw us work closely with new and existing brands to ensure they are presenting the most in demand merchandise ranges which our younger audience of shoppers are targeting.

“As a result, we have seen really strong sales amongst our lifestyle and footwear brands and LDO has become the best performing outlet stores within our retailers’ European portfolios.”

Managed by Multi-Realm, LDO has 265,000 square feet of retail and leisure space, including 70 outlet stores, restaurants and coffee shops.

Brands with a presence at the scheme include the likes of Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Guess, BOSS, Kurt Geiger, Dune, Levi’s, Skechers, Vans, The North Face, Converse, Lindt, Villeroy & Boch, Nike, Adidas, PUMA, Next, and M&S.
