L’Occitane Group chief executive steps down
L’Occitane Group has announced that Laurent Marteau has stepped down from his roles of chief executive officer and board member.
The group said he had made the decision to allow him to focus more on his personal pursuits and other business interests.
In a statement, L’Occitane said: “The board sincerely thanks Mr. Marteau for his service and contribution to the company and wishes him well in his future endeavours.”
Prior to joining the group in 2022, Marteau held senior roles at the La Prairie skincare brand. Earlier in his career, he worked with Parfums Christian Dior.
L’Occitane’s board has now established an office of the chief executive whose members will manage the company’s day-to-day operations until a successor is appointed.
Members include Reinold Geiger, chairman and controlling shareholder of L’Occitane Group; Samuel Antunes, group chief financial officer; and Ingo Dauer, group general counsel.
L’Occitane is currently focused on transitioning to new management and corporate governance structures as it delists from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The delisting is expected to complete by 16 October.
