Lloydspharmacy launches new websites

Lloydspharmacy has launched new retail and online doctor websites in support of its growth plans.

The www.lloydspharmacy.com retail site incorporates a range of new features to give customers a more engaging shopping experience and includes customer reviews and product ratings, improved search performance, enhanced navigation functionality and a more efficient checkout process. Over 6,000 health and beauty products are available on the site as well as online NHS and private prescription processing.

The new Online Doctor website, launched at the same time and accessed from the retail site, offers a range of patient services including clinics and treatments for diabetes, asthma and sexual health.

Ros Hunt, Head of Online at Lloydspharmacy said “Ecommerce is a very important focus for Lloydspharmacy.  Improving access to affordable healthcare is core to our business and our online site allows us to offer more products and services to more people. Over the past two years we have seen visitors to our site increase by a staggering 80% and we expect our new website with its enhanced functionality to support further growth.”

She added: “The retail website will provide customers with a fantastic online shopping experience with Lloydspharmacy. We have greatly increased the number of products available and the new features such as product ratings and reviews will help us in listening to our customers and responding to feedback.  Our monthly e-newsletter has also been refreshed where we will provide our customers with healthcare advice and talk to them about our upcoming promotions and discounts.”

Lloydspharmacy worked with ecommerce specialists, Salmon, to build and integrate the new retail website and Salmon will continue to support and manage its development going forward.

Lloydspharmacy said it is offering a 15% single use online discount for customers to use on all products until the end of August.  Customers will also be eligible to win a £250 online shopping spree when signing up to the website’s new e-newsletter. All transactions over £40 receive free delivery.

Lloydspharmacy has over 1650 pharmacies across the UK, employs over 17,000 staff and dispenses over 156 million prescription items annually.
