LloydsPharmacy enjoys strong Christmas sales

LloydsPharmacy has said it enjoyed strong trading in the run-up to Christmas with over-the-counter sales rising by 9.6% in the nine weeks to Christmas Day.
The company benefited from the popularity of promotions such as ‘Fragrance of the Week’ and ‘Megadeals’ which offered customers savings of over 50% and 40% respectively. The price point of £5 to £15 also worked well, particularly for gift sets.
LloydsPharmacy managing director Cormac Tobin said: “We had a really strong Christmas with year-on-year OTC sales in the nine weeks to Christmas Day up 9.63%. This was driven by a clear focus on value for money and high quality gifts with our Fragrance of the Week and half price gift sets being particularly popular.”
