Lloyds Pharmacy launches in-store radio
Restructuring of marketing team to drive customer service

Lloyds Pharmacy has launched an, in-store radio station as part of its drive to improve the customer experience in the increasingly competitive UK retail pharmacy market.
Lloydspharmacy Live allows the UK’s largest independent community pharmacy chain to communicate healthcare advice to customers.
Lloyds Pharmacy, which operates over 1,300 stores, has also promoted Mark Green, to the position of commercial director as part of a revamp of its marketing opertation.
Mike Ward, managing director of Lloyds Pharmacy and CEO retail for parent company Celesio AG, said: “Mark’s focus for the future is on positioning Lloyds Pharmacy as a responsible major healthcare provider, with the interest of the community at the heart of the company’s strategy.
“His appointment to the role of commercial director brings together two key departments within the business and marks a new direction for Lloyds Pharmacy. The tremendous results being produced under Mark’s leadership demonstrate that his broad experience and direction are integral to driving the business forward in this fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.”
The company has also appointed Martin Thurley as head of communications. Thurley has worked in the advertising industry for over sixteen years.
Mark Green said: “Martin’s decision to join us is driven by his belief in our strategy and his commitment to making a difference as a senior member of the leadership team in the commercial department. His significant experience and strategic input will be crucial to our future success.”
Completing the new structure of the commercial team is Jayne Harrison, responsible for Lloyds Pharmacy Live and PR for Lloyds Pharmacy.
Green said: “Lloydspharmacy Live is one of the most important consumer facing initiatives for Lloyds Pharmacy this year. It demonstrates our continued commitment to providing high quality healthcare services to our pharmacists and our customers.”
