Liverpool ONE transformed into Christmas wonderland
Liverpool ONE will be hosting one of the biggest Christmas parties the city has ever seen when the shopping destination is transformed into a Christmas wonderland today.
The event will begin at 4pm with live music, street entertainment and special performances. From 6pm, Paradise Street will host a spectacular lightshow culminating in the light switch-on for Liverpool ONE’s giant 30 metre Christmas tree. The show has been created in partnership with Liverpool Empire Theatre’s creative learning team.
Liverpool Empire Theatre creative learning manager, Natalie Flynn, said: “The partnership with Liverpool ONE for this event has provided an incredible opportunity to bring the red carpet experience and spine-tingling performances out of the traditional theatre space and to the people of Liverpool.”
In addition to the iconic Christmas tree, Liverpool ONE has created an Après Lodge on Chavasse Park together with an adjacent sub-zero ice bar made entirely of ice.
Donna Howitt, marketing and business performance director at Liverpool ONE, said: “This is one of the most ambitious projects we’ve undertaken since opening in 2008.“The festive season right across the city really does get better every year. At Liverpool ONE we’re excited to see our Ice Festival return on Chavasse Park, and of course can’t wait to unveil our iconic new Christmas tree, complete with its own bar located underneath. It is the perfect spot for anyone looking for a post-shopping beverage in the most festive of surroundings.”
Liverpool ONE’s Christmas is part of a citywide campaign this year to create ‘One Magical City’, co-ordinated by Marketing Liverpool.
