Lidl to create 2,500 jobs as it expands across the UK
Discount supermarket chain Lidl is to create 2,500 new jobs as part of a major expansion programme in the UK.
The company will be recruiting for a wide range of roles including bakery managers, freshness co-ordinators, and depot and store staff. Other roles will include positions at the retailer’s Wimbledon headquarters.
The move forms part of a £220 million expansion across the UK in which Lidl is planning to grow the number of stores from 600 to 620 in the next nine months.
Lidl’s turnover was £3.3 billion in 2013 and sales have increased by 20% over the past 12 months.
