Levi Strauss hires Craig Nomura to head up global retail

Denim brand Levi Strauss & Co has named Craig Nomura as its new executive vice president and president of global retail.

Nomura has joined the business from Williams-Sonoma where he was responsible for international expansion as senior vice president of global development. His previous roles also include leadership positions at Gap, The Gymboree Corporation, Guess and Foot Locker.

At Levi Strauss & Co, Nomura will lead a 7,300 strong global team which is responsible for driving the omni-channel retail experience across around 2,800 owned and operated, franchise and outlet stores. Reporting to Levi Strauss & Co president and chief executive Chip Bergh, he will also be tasked with driving retail growth and identifying new opportunities to connect the company’s brands with fans around the world.

Bergh said: “Craig is a true global citizen with a proven track record of delivering profitable growth for some of the world’s top retailers. Whether it’s through strategic franchise management, consumer-focused vertical retail experiences or tight inventory management, Craig’s deep expertise across all aspects of retail operations will be a great asset to the management team as we work to make Levi Strauss & Co a world-class omni-channel retailer.”
