Lego to open second Irish store at Blanchardstown Shopping Centre

Lego has announced plans to open a second store in Ireland this year.

Due to launch in October, the shop at Blanchardstown Shopping Centre will include a Lego Pick Brick Wall and a Build a Minifigure Tower feature where visitors will be able to mix and match from a wide selection of bottoms, tops, heads, hair pieces and accessories to customise Lego minifigures. There will also be plenty of hands-on play opportunities through free build challenges and events each month.

Lego opened its first Irish store in August 2022 on Dublin’s Grafton Street.

Amy Pearson, director of EMEA marketing at the Lego Group, said: “The new Lego store in Blanchardstown Shopping Centre will allow builders of all ages to be inspired by the endless play opportunities Lego has to offer.

“This store will be a top retail destination for product launches and events, while acting as a hub for our tenured Lego community and new builders alike, welcoming them to an exciting journey of discovery with the Lego universe.”

Spanning 1.1 million square feet, Blanchardstown Centre is Dublin’s largest retail and leisure destination. The scheme has undergone significant extension and refurbishment work over the past two years, and currently serves a catchment of 1.9 million people.

Sharon Walsh, leasing director at Falcon AM, asset manager for Blanchardstown Centre, said: “We are hugely excited to be welcoming the Lego Group’s latest Irish store to Blanchardstown Centre.  Creating unique customer experiences is increasingly important – and this interactive, fully-immersive store speaks directly to that.

“This opening follows a string of others at the centre over the past 12 months – attesting to the best-in-class ‘prime’ retail space available at Blanchardstown.”
