LEGO to open 10th UK store in Watford’s Harlequin
The iconic LEGO toy brand is to open its tenth UK store at the Harlequin shopping centre in Watford.
LEGO will open a 2,521 sq ft store on the upper mall of The Harlequin adjacent to Disney and close to Marks and Spencer and Next.
The new store will feature the three main areas that make up a typical LEGO store including the ‘pick a brick wall’ where customers can choose and buy specific LEGO bricks, an interactive play area in the centre of the store called the living room and a ‘brand ribbon’ which runs the circumference of the store, featuring LEGO model displays.
The new store will open in time for Christmas and is the latest in a line of debuts at Capital Shopping Centre owned Harlequin where recent openings have included Lakeland, Apple and Phase Eight.
Never Miss a Retail Update!Jonathan Ainsley, asset management director for CSC, said: “We are delighted that LEGO has chosen The Harlequin for its tenth store.
“CSC is committed to invigorating the tenant mix at The Harlequin to meet the requirements of the affluent Watford catchment, which has over £25 billion of retail expenditure, and we welcome LEGO’s opening as part of that strategy.”
Deny Andolscheck, senior director retail expansion at LEGO Europe, added: “With the opening of the Watford location, The LEGO Group continues the investment in its brand by opening stores in select locations throughout the UK.”
The toy retailer is currently celebrating its eightieth year and is still owned by the family who founded it in 1932.
