Laura Ashley chief executive steps down

Ainum Mohd-Saaid leaving fashion and homeware retailer
Laura Ashley has announced the resignation of chief executive Ainum Mohd-Saaid with effect from February 1, citing personal reasons.

Lillian Tan will replace Ainum as chief executive.
Tan, currently a non-executive director of the company. has been managing director and chief executive of Metrojaya, one of the most successful retailers in Malaysia. Metrojaya owns and operates four department stores, one hypermarket, and over sixty specialty stores.
Laura Ashley, which has been reducing its clothing ranges to focus on its more succssful home funnishings buisiness, is majority owned by businessman Dr Khoo Kay Peng.
This week also saw the formal departure of Rebecca Navarednam, previously joint chief executive, whose resignation was announced in November.
