Latest board members bring new focus to Eagle Eye

The former chief executive of Airmiles & BA Miles, Drew Thomson, and the former chief executive of content at Virgin Media, Malcolm Wall, join Sir Terry Leahy and William Currie this week as board members of digital consumer engagement platform provider Eagle Eye.

The announcement follows a successful week for Eagle Eye which saw the company raise £6 million on its debut floatation on the AIM (Alternative Investment Market). The income from the IPO has led to the acquisition of 2ergo Limited, a mobile marketing company famous for launching Orange Wednesdays, which now enables Eagle Eye to create mobile applications for clients.

Founded in 2003 by technology entrepreneur and mobile commerce expert Steve Rothwell, Eagle Eye has seen significant growth in recent years attracting more than 70 blue chip clients including Tesco Clubcard, Thomas Pink, Marks & Spencer, Mitchells & Butler, JD Sports and Tragus.

The company says that the Eagle Eye AIR platform provides a secure, closed loop solution for promotions, offers, unique customer services, loyalty, real-time offers, rewards and services through any point of sale for partners in multiple sectors.

Both Thomson and Wall join as non-executive directors and will advise on the strategy behind the company’s continued expansion specifically developing the issuance aspect of the platform.

Phillip Blundell, chief executive of Eagle Eye, the UK’s leading supplier of digital customer engagement, says: “As the business continues to grow and we expand into new areas of innovation, it’s more and more important to gain new perspectives on what is possible. We’re delighted that Drew and Malcolm have joined the board and look forward to working with them to explore new partnerships”.
