First half profits are expected to be ‘significantly ahead of the previous year’ following strong sales before December.
In the 13 weeks to 28 January like-for-like sales orders fell 4.6 per cent while total sales order intake rose 12.8 per cent.Commenting on the trading update Paul Briant, Chief Executive, said: ‘The second quarter sales reflect what has been a challenging January Sale for Land of Leather. However, we remain confident in our strong product offer which represents exceptional value despite the fact market conditions are likely to be very challenging.’
