Land of Leather sales plunge 15.4 per cent.

No improvement in trading outlook forecast.

In the 13 weeks to 27 January, like for like sales orders collapsed by 21.8 per cent, with total sales order intake down 11.9 per cent. In the 26 weeks ended 28 January, like for like sales orders fell 16.1 per cent and total sales order intake was down by 4.2 per cent. On January 4, Land of Leather said that underlying sales over the first nine days of the post-Christmas sales had fallen by a quarter, blaming the credit crunch and lack of consumer confidence.
