Kripsy Kreme opens 50th UK store
Doughnut maker Krispy Kreme has opened its first store in the North East, bringing its total number of stores in the UK to 50.
The new ‘Hotlight’ store is located in the MetrOasis catering development that sits between the Metrocentre and the adjacent Metro Retail Park. The store opening yesterday was greeted by more than 80 Krispy Kreme fans, many of whom had camped overnight to be one of the first in the store.
Judith Denby, chief marketing officer at Krispy Kreme UK, said: “It’s great to hit such a milestone, our 50th UK store and a new region at the same time. Our first North East store is a great addition for the company, and keeps us on track for our target of 80 UK stores by 2015.
“With other stores in the North East coming shortly, this Hotlight store will be a great regional hub, supplying doughnuts, made fresh daily, to coffee bars and cabinets.”
