Kering hires new chief operating officer

Kering, the owner of luxury brands such as Gucci, Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney, has named Jean-Philippe Bailly as its new chief operating officer.

Due to take up his position on 1 April 2016, Bailly has been director of supply chain and procurement at Richemont since 2004.

Prior to joining Richemont in 2000, he worked with Valeo as director of logistics and procurement for Europe.

In his new role, Bailly will report to Jean-François Palus, managing director of Kering, and will be a member of the group’s executive committee. He will lead the supply chain, logistics and industrial operations.

In statement, Kering said Bailly brought experience of multiple brands, multiple products and multiple channel environments to the Kering’s brands, which will be “beneficial” both for Kering’s industrial and commercial issues and the group’s corporate social responsibility objectives.
