Furniture retailer JYSK has entered its 42nd country by opening its first store in Malta.
The store in the city Lija, which is situated between the capital Valletta and the city of Mosta, will cater for the island’s 400,000 citizens.
Frederik Kroun, franchise director at JYSK, said: “Malta is a small but interesting market, which we see great opportunities to develop. Basically we believe in the market and that the customers on Malta are ready to get great offers from JYSK. We look forward to providing them with that.”
JYSK is planning to open another three to four stores in Malta over the next two to three years.
Having launched its first store in Denmark in 1979, the company now operates over 2,300 stores worldwide.
