JYSK chooses Doncaster for concept store
JYSK, the Scandinavian furniture giant, has opened a new concept store at the Frenchgate Shopping Centre in Doncaster.
The new style store will offer customers a range of purchase options including online, in-store click and collect, buy-in-store and home delivery.
The store will initially focus on garden furniture before switching to indoor furniture and sleeping products from mid-September.
Steve Stenhouse, UK country manager for JYSK, said: “The Frenchgate store represents an exciting development for JYSK where we will increase exposure of our brand and put our best-selling garden products to the test in a smaller, but busier retail environment.”
Founded in Denmark in 1979 by Lars Larsen, JYSK now has more than 2,200 stores across 37 countries.
Frenchgate marketing manager Karen Staniforth said: “Doncaster is an excellent platform for JYSK to springboard themselves ahead of the competition within South Yorkshire, while bringing four new jobs to our town, too.
“The area was earmarked as an area of particular interest to JYSK, mainly due to the e-commerce success of its website within Doncaster and the surrounding areas.”
