JYSK appoints marketing director
Danish furniture retailer JYSK has appointed Michael Gade as its new marketing director.
The retailer, which has ten stores in the UK, said Gade will be responsible for customer insight operations and the development of marketing strategies at JYSK NORDIC division which covers 18 countries. He will join the company on 3 February.
Gade was previously Nordic marketing manager at Expert AS, the parent company of the Expert chain which has 600 stores in Finland, Norway and Denmark.
JYSK operates 2,100 stores in 35 countries. According to figures released last month, JYSK total sales reached €2.53 billion in the year to 31 August 2013, which was a 6% increase on the previous year. During the year, JYSK’s EBIT rose by 5.5% to €319 million while pre-tax profit climbed by 8% to €300 million.
