Jollyes strengthens leadership team with significant new hires

Jollyes has bolstered its senior teams with several new hires as it prepares for significant new store growth.

Adam Dury will join the pet retailer as its new chief operating officer in January after working as chief commercial officer at Card Factory for the last five years and holding commercial roles at Tesco and Marks and Spencer.

Dury will be part of a strengthened main board that also includes chief executive Joe Wykes, chairman Andy Bond and the retailer’s recently appointed chief financial officer, Richard Willan.

Jollyes is also strengthening its senior leadership team with three key hires.

These have included the appointment of Anne Galloway as trading director following her long career in buying and merchandising at Tesco. During her time with the supermarket, she led the home commercial teams which included the pet care category.

Meanwhile, Matt Johnston has been appointed as chief technology officer after previously working with Sainsbury’s as head of data science.

In a final appointment, Katherine Paterson will join the retailer next month as its new chief marketing officer after 12 years as customer director at Hobbycraft and senior marketing and ecommerce roles at Kingfisher, Asda and Mars.

Wykes said: “It’s a measure of the progress we’ve made that we’re now able to attract some of the best talent in British retailing to join our team. And while we’ve had a tremendous couple of years, continuing to fulfil our ambitious growth plans will depend on us hiring, nurturing, and supporting people who can build great careers at Jollyes.”

The retailer has also recently unveiled a revamped careers website that has generated over 7,000 applications in its first few weeks.
