John Nelson retires from Kingfisher board
Kingfisher, the owner B&Q and Screwfix, has announced that non-executive director John Nelson has retired from the Board following his appointment as Chairman of Lloyd’s of London.
Nelson has been a board member at Kingfisher for more than nine years during which time he held the positions of deputy chairman, senior independent director and chairman.
Daniel Bernard, chairman, said: “On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank John for his tremendous contribution to the Board over the past nine years and wish him all the very best for the future. I know that the Board will miss his dedication and wise counsel.”
Clare Chapman, who was appointed a non-executive director in December 2010, has been appointed chairman of the Remuneration Committee with effect from 8 September 2011. Kingfisher said an announcement would be made in due course regarding the appointment of the senior independent director.
