John Lewis weekly sales rise 2.4%
Sales at John Lewis rose by 2.4% last week as price matching initiatives and the warm weather helped to boost sales.
The Electricals and Home Technology directorate saw sales increase by 23.9% driven by a 41% rise in sales of televisions due to the Digital Switchover.
Home sales fell 6.3% as the earlier Mother’s Day this year impacted sales especially in accessories and gifts. However, furniture had a stronger week as the warm weather drove sales of garden furniture and barbecues.
Fashion sales dropped by 2.2%.
