John Lewis unveils Christmas winter wonderland windows

John Lewis has unveiled Christmas windows with a twist at its flagship Oxford Street and Peter Jones department stores.

To create the displays, the retailer has had a total of 188 animals made from of over 7,000 products stocked in its stores. These include deer created using Dyson vacuum cleaners, penguins made from kettles, a turkey made from hand, face and bath towels, and a bear fashioned from furniture.

Kim Morris, head of retail design at John Lewis, said: “We wanted our windows to do more than just inform, we wanted to create displays which would inspire and delight our customers over the coming months. This year we’ve gone in a new direction, whilst ensuring that products still remain the stars of the show.

“Contemporary shapes and materials are central to the scheme and these wonderful animals have been designed to appeal to new and existing customers. They will be the main attractions and are certain to get people talking in the run-up to Christmas.”

Never Miss a Retail Update!

The animals were designed by creative consultancy Chameleon Visual and produced by Setsquare Staging.

John Lewis said the entire process took a year a complete. The retailer is already working on its 2014 displays.
