John Lewis to double the number of Kuoni concessions

John Lewis is to double the number of Kuoni travel concessions in its stores to eight following the success of the first four concessions in its Oxford Street, Southampton, Reading and Cardiff stores.

The four new concessions will open at the department store’s sites in Brent Cross, Aberdeen, Welwyn and Leicester. Combining the look and feel of the two brands, the concessions will feature John Lewis furniture and Kuoni fittings as well as iPads and plasma screens to encourage customer interaction and to bring the holidays to life through imagery and videos. 

The first four Kuoni concessions opened in the John Lewis stores in autumn 2012. As part of the brand partnership, Kuoni is already promoting John Lewis Travel Insurance to its customers and is the travel partner for the John Lewis Gift List where wedding guests can contribute to a Kuoni honeymoon.

Sean Allam, director, commercial operations at John Lewis said: “John Lewis customers have embraced the idea of buying holidays in our department stores, and we’ve been impressed at how well the concessions have performed. We’re seeing that customers want the expertise and advice they can get from visiting a branch, which in turn drives footfall to our shops and helps John Lewis to differentiate further our offer on the high street.
