John Lewis sales up 11.5% last week

John Lewis enjoyed strong trading last week with sales rising by 11.5% year-on-year.

Electricals and home technology sales finished the week 16.1% up on the same week in the previous year as the Mobile category benefited from record sales. Other top performing categories included Smart Home and Audio.

Sales in fashion rose by 14.6% as the cooler weather supported an increase across a range of different product areas. Womenswear sales climbed by 26.5% boosted by good performances in the Outerwear and Knitwear categories.

Meanwhile, home sales increased by 5.2% on the year as the furniture category continued to perform well with buoyant sales in the Fitted Furniture and Beds categories.
