John Lewis launches own-branded broadband service
John Lewis has extended its range of services to customers by launching its first own-branded broadband service.
The move broadens the retailer’s range of services following the launch of John Lewis Insurance in 2010.
The new service, which replaces existing Waitrose and Greenbee broadband services, is available to customers across the UK via johnlewisbroadband.com and can be signed up for in the retailer’s shops or over the phone in line with the its multi-channel strategy.
John Lewis telecoms manager Adam Brown said: “This move complements the range of services and products we offer – over 80 per cent of all our consumer electronics sales are WiFi enabled and we know our customers want the same honest and trustworthy experience from their internet provision as they would expect from any product they buy from us.”
John Lewis said the new service will offer three different deals to internet package shoppers, all on 12-month “no hidden catches” contracts with no activation fees. Customers will also be given freephone support and a free wireless router.
