John Lewis embarks on click and collect trial with the Co-op

The John Lewis & Partners department store chain has teamed up with the Co-op to launch a trial click and collect service in six Co-op food stores.

The trial will give new and existing customers access to the retailer’s next day click and collect service in areas where John Lewis has fewer shops.

Initially launched for use by Co-op staff at the Co-op’s Manchester support centre store, the trial will now to be rolled-out to five further Co-op food stores by the end of the month. These will include stores in Manchester and Nottingham and shops in London’s East Dulwich, Eltham and Hither Green.

Eva Cullen, partner and head of customer fulfilment operations for John Lewis & Partners, said: “Our click and collect service is growing in popularity every year as our customers benefit from the ease of being able to pick up their order at a time and place which is convenient to them. We are always looking for new ways to be more convenient for our customers and to reach new customers, and the success of this trial would present the opportunity to roll out the service to more shops.”
