John Lewis appoints Helen Weir as group finance director
John Lewis has appointed Helen Weir, the ex-head of Lloyds Banking Group’s retail division, as its new group finance director.
Weir, who will join John Lewis in April, has extensive retail experience having worked as finance director of B&Q between 1995-2000. She then spent a further four years working as group finance director at B&Q’s parent company Kingfisher.
At John Lewis, she will take over from Marisa Cassoni whose retirement was announced last year.
Charlie Mayfield, chairman of the John Lewis Partnership, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Helen to the Partnership as our Group Finance Director. Helen brings a wealth of both finance and retail experience and expertise and will be a great successor to Marisa, who has made an enormous contribution to the Partnership over the last six years.”
Weir left Lloyds Banking Group’s last year following a management shake-up ordered by Lloyds’s chief executive Antonio Horta Osorio.
