Jigsaw delivers record Christmas trading
7 January, 2015 | by Retail Bulletin
Fashion retailer Jigsaw has said it achieved record Christmas trading after continuing to follow its full price strategy.
Like-for-like sales in the five weeks to 3 January rose by 10% year-on-year while total sales climbed by 13%. Margin was 140 basis points higher than in the previous year.
Jigsaw chief executive Peter Ruis said: “In many ways it was an old fashioned retail Christmas, gifts and accessories at the fore, last minute footfall driven by the cold snap and pent up demand for the first few days of the sale.
“Our omni-channel performance was anything but old fashioned with web orders taken up to 23 December and delivered pre-Christmas.”
