JD Sports to upsize in Burnley

JD Sports has signed a lease for an upsized store at Charter Walk Shopping Centre in Burnley.

The sportswear retailer will be relocating from its current store within the scheme to a  larger, more prominent unit to increase its ground floor trading space from 3,973 square feet to 5,817 square feet.

With the opening expected this summer, landlord works to amalgamate six vacant units for the store are already underway. Addington, as asset managers for the store’s owners, Burnley Council, is in active discussions with interested parties to re-let its current store.

The news has followed upsizes by Shoe Zone and Specsavers at the scheme.

Never Miss a Retail Update!

Matthew Allen principal of Addington said, “We are delighted that JD Sports, who has been a key part of Burnley’s retail landscape for over 20 years has recommitted to the shopping centre.

“Occupancy across Charter Walk remains very high. By consolidating smaller units into larger, modern retail spaces, the Centre is securing the long-term presence of national retailers, enhancing the overall sustainability of Charter Walk as a thriving destination for the local community.”
