John Wardle and David Makin leave board
The founders of JD Sports have formally stepped down from the board of the sportswear retailer following its takeover by Pentland Group.
The company confirmed it has accepted the resignation of Wardle and Makin as non-executive directors with immediate effect.
Pentland, owner of brand including Ellesse, Speedo, Kickers, declared its offer for the business unconditional earlier this week after winning control of more than 55 per cent of shares. It agreed last month to buy out the 45 per cent of the business the co-founders.
